This morning I accidentally performed a search from MSN. I was little surprised that my results page was not from Live Search but it was from Microsoft's new search engine Bing which was code named Kumo for quite some time. I looked at the results and I was kind of impressed that relevancy of search results from Bing is much improved as compared to Live Search. So I decided to give it a little spin. I used to get totally useless results from Live Search for certain terms. To test Bing i performed search for those terms. This time i did get relevant results.
One thing that Bing lacks is frequency of indexing new information. Google seems to have launched aggressive indexing in past few months. When I searched for content that I had written about in last two weeks, I could not find it in Bing. It is still in preview state and it will definitely get better from here. Once Bing has nailed down relevancy, rest is all fluff.
I liked the idea of showing past search history in left navigation bar. And you have option to clear it or turn it off. For the naughty ones, Clear clearing history is important.
Lets Bing it
