This morning I decided to log into into my Windows Live/Hotmail account and was just surprised to see over 100K emails sitting in my Inbox. Well, I could not just do a blanket delete on all emails in Inbox because that would mean loosing my old emails as well. I looked at some of the emails and figured that 90% of the emails were from same sender. So if I could just find a way to clean up emails from a particular sender, 90% of clean up is all done for me. So here is snapshot of how my situation looked like at a given time.
In this post I will discuss how to clean up your hotmail mail box by deleting all emails from a particular sender.
In the right hand pane, you will see Reply link with a small arrow next to it. Click on the arrow and you will be presented with a context menu with few options. You will notice an option Delete all from sender as shown in the image below.
Select Delete all from sender option. Hotmail will bring up a pop up window showing you progress of deletion of messages. At this point you can not perform any action on the email window itself. But you have option in the progress pop up window to stop the deletion process. Following image shows the progress window while deletion is going on.
Hope this information helps you in cleaning up that cluttered inbox that you have been wanting to clean up for quite some time.
